The Mindful Student Training is a 1-2 day training event designed to provide educators with the tools to help students self-regulate, focus and develop awareness for self and others. Learn innovative teaching strategies, counseling techniques and effective discipline based on the latest research in neuroscience and happiness.

Classrooms across the country are implementing mindfulness into their school day, resulting in improved feelings of community, increased self-regulation, decreased behavioral referrals and an improvement in attendance. Through an awareness of heart, mind and body, students are able to emotionally regulate themselves as well as successfully navigate social interactions. This awareness helps slow the nervous system and allows children/teens to better connect with their feelings and gain self-control.
The Mindful Student™Training is designed for educators, counselors and anyone who believes in supporting the development of the whole child. This two day event reveals the blueprint of teaching the power of connection to self, others and community through hands-on activities, "priming the brain" strategies, relaxation, social/emotional learning and more. Educators leave this training with the tools that build community, techniques that teach focus and self-regulation, and activities that promote kindness.

Day 1: After providing a general overview of the latest research in neuroscience, stress, trauma, happiness and mindfulness, participants will learn quick hands-on activities and strategies to incorporate into their setting immediately.
Day 2: Participants will experience more in-depth mindfulness activities, practice teaching activities and obtain The Mindful Student Certification.

Lyndsay Morris, M.ED, RYT-200, is a whole child education advocate, co-author of The Mindful Student, and the founder of Generation Wellness. Lyndsay is committed to "wellness for all ages" by integrating mindfulness, music, and playful activities that teach the skills needed to thrive in both school and in life. She empowers students, parents, and educators to live a life of happiness, health, and success through trainings, webinars, virtual mentoring, and the Wellness Warrior community.

Lacretia Dye, Ph.D, E-RYT-500 is a national speaker, co-author of The Mindful Student, yoga teacher, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling and Student Affairs at Western Kentucky University. She has served her local, regional, and national community with heart, mind, and body wellness for over 15 years as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and a National Certified Counselor
Dr. Dye regularly facilitates workshops with parents, teachers, students, and community professionals in the areas of race-based trauma healing, ancestral healing, trauma releasing activities, urban school counseling, and professional self–care. Her research publications include: Teaching Mindfulness for the Self-Care and Well-Being of Counselors and Student Affairs Professionals.
